Who We Are
Scotscreed was founded as a wholly owned subsidiary of Glenalmond Trading Investments Limited, primarily to allow the parent company, the country’s leading installer of flowing floor screeds, access to, and control over it’s supply chain. They have invested heavily in a world class, state of the art, computer controlled concrete production plant, with great care taken during the planning and procurement phase to ensure the unit is at the leading edge of environmental, safety and efficiency technologies.
Glenalmond Contracts is a family owned and operated business, covering the whole of Scotland from our base in Perth. The company was started in 1998 by Iain Stewart, and his son Campbell Stewart.
Iain Stewart has been in the construction industry for over 45 years, and is a qualified tradesman. Campbell Stewart has been in the construction industry for over 25 years, and has CGLI qualifications in concrete technology, having experience in every discipline for one of the country’s largest ready mixed concrete suppliers.
Safety, quality and customer satisfaction are our main drivers. We recognise the importance of scheduling of our service in any contract, as floor screeding is usually on the critical path of any development. We have the plant, equipment, and staff available to carry out multiple installations daily, and pride ourselves on our commitment to installation and completion dates.
History
Formed in 1998, Glenalmond Contracts has driven itself from small family business of 4 relatives, to a multi million pound turnover business, with over 30 employees, laying high quality floor screeds in every sector of the construction industry, from self build houses, to multi campus PFI school and hospital projects.
With a pride of attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service, the business has grown exponentially over the last 19 years, to become the largest flowing floor screed installer in the country. The continued expansion of the business has been further driven with the new construction of a state of the art concrete and screed production unit, based within Dundee docks. This allows us to import by ship some of the highest quality aggregates in the world, ensure we have adequate stocks for months at a time, and remove hundreds of tipper vehicle movements from the road.
From this central location, we can provide quality floor screeds to almost every location on mainland Scotland. Our production unit is so efficient, we are able to provide the local market with large volumes of high quality ready mixed concrete direct.
- 2018 – BSI Kitemark scheme for BS EN 206 and BS 8500-2, updates to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification obtained for Scotscreed Limited
- 2017 – Construction of new Concrete Production Unit
- 2016 – Incorporation of Scotscreed Limited as a subsidiary
- 2015 – Replacement begins of truck mixer fleet in anticipation of further expansion
- 2014 – Attainment of BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System, and BS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
- 2012 – Construction of bespoke offices and warehouse in Perth
- 2006 – First major expansion in the market with purchase of own HGV truck fleet
